2 Possible Specific Causes of "Roid Rage" - Insomnia, anxiety, aggression etc.
Takeaways:
* Both Tren and Deca (trenbolone and nandrolone decanoate) affect the dopamine pathway, but not the serotonin. This can lead to unbalanced neurochemistry. High reward/drive (high or altered dopamine expression) + low status feelings (lack of serotonin) = potential roid rage, insomnia, anxiety, depression etc.
* Some people lack a specific enzyme needed to convert nor-adrenaline to adrenaline. This also can lead to increased anxiety, insomnia etc. as, for example, tren stimulates the epinephrine/adrenaline pathway significantly.
* Under-methylation can lead to actually lowered serotonin. Not good.
* Simple, cheap methyl donors such as Tri Methyl Glycine (TMG/aka betaine anhydrous) can significantly assist in repairing those pathways from under methylation.
* TMG supports muscle growth processes (think fuel/raw material vs. it being a "driver" of these processes) and fat loss.
I used trenbolone acetate 20 years ago when it was very popular in the early/mid 2000s. I used to run 75mg eod with around 500 mg test per week. I did this a couple/few times. One of those times I actually started to excrete colostrum from one of my nipples. So, self/internet diagnosing the issue as too much prolactin, I hopped on Cabergoline.
Now, I could feel the "push" from the increased cns stim from the tren, but I was 25 years old or so and it really didn't bother me much. But, when I added the Caber.... I would sleep about 2-2.5 hrs per night and constantly dream about numbers- math problems, repeating numbers. It was a bad time. Did a bit of looking around and thinking and dropped the caber, problem solved. Why bring this up? Well, at that time I could easily tolerate the sides from tren alone- some night sweats, but enough sleep etc. Adding that in put me over the edge then. But...
Fast forward many years and a friend offered me a bottle of tren. Now (at that time) I'm pushing 40, haven't done a cycle in 10 years. So, I took 50mg twice per week. I could sleep. But, my aggression was waaaay over the top. No need to get into how I figured that out... But, a friend pointed it out and I was like "Yeah, this isn't going so well."
What changed? The tren? Nope, I changed, my physiology changed. I aged. I can't prove it, but I strongly suspect that I lost capacity to produce enough methyl donors (and specifically the enzyme - phenylethanol-N-methyl tranferase- needed to convert from noradrenaline to adrenaline).
It was somewhat confirmed for me when I began injecting NAD+ during a fast. Boy did I have energy even though I wasn't eating! But, by day 7 or 8 I began to actually feel manic. Legit manic. I couldn't focus or control my mouth. Not good. I was advised by Yigit (friend of the channel) to add methyl donors. I purchased a pound of TMG powder for less than $20 and it did the trick.
All of that said- this is MY experience. The amount of people with lacking transferase is unknown, but very likely the minority. But, likely the older you are, the less efficient you are at these processes. I've heard Big Paul from Anabolic Bodybuilding channel talk about his changing relationship with deca, tren, and npp several times. And, several times I've floated this theory out to him. But, likely lost in the shuffle. That said, if you find yourself in this position: think about alternative compounds till you get a handle on it. No gains are worth your health or freedom or relationships. Grab some cheap TMG or another good methyl donor. And, if you must incorporate tren etc., add in gradually with plenty of methyl donor. I take 3-5 grams of TMG when needed- i.e. especially when I'm taking oxytocin and growing muscle to support the process.

These are very scant resources, my apologies. There is PLENTY out there on this topic, this is just a bit of what I thought applied.
